Nearly 300 guests attended this black tie gala evening including His Excellency Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Ambassador to the US, Terry Garcia, executive vice president of National Geographic, FAMSF Board President Dede Wilsey and exhibition cultural partners Lindy Sherwood-Combs and Steve Bell of Northern Trust. Guests had cocktails in Wilsey Court, viewed the exhibition Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs and dined on a three-course dinner in a tent behind the Museum. Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities was the guest of honor and gave short remarks. SF Opera Adler Fellows performed two arias from Aida in his honor.
