SFMOMA opened its doors on Wednesday night for the festive opening of the much-anticipated exhibition Frida Kahlo which will be on view until September 28th. The exhibition, commemorating the centennial of Kahlo’s birth, brings together paintings that span her career, from 1930 to 1954, along with a selection of her own collection of photographs, most of which has never been on public display. The museum hosted nearly 2000 museum patrons and VIPs from Mexico who all enjoyed the exhibition. Many of the guests donned Frida-like outfits inspired by the paintings themselves.
