Moby came to San Francisco on October 15th to perform the last in a series of three California concerts to benefit our state’s domestic violence shelters. After reading in the New York Times that the Governor had cut all state funding to shelters, Moby generously pledged to donate all the proceeds from his California shows—San Diego, LA and SF—to my agency to distribute to the shelters.

While Moby was in SF, Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) held a press conference on the steps of City Hall to present Moby with a Senate proclamation thanking him for his donation, and for the creation of the Moby SOS Fund, in conjunction with the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. The new fund will be an ongoing source of revenue for shelters statewide.
