To start 2010 off right, the OC Music Awards Showcase Series kicks off Tuesday, January 5 at Costa Mesa's Detroit Bar. The Showcase Series, which determines two of twenty-three Awards categories, Best Live Band and Best Live Acoustic, includes seven, FREE, weekly, live showcases at venues all across Orange County leading up to the Showcase Finals which determine the category winners. Finals for Best Live Acoustic take place at the historic Yost Theater on Friday, February 26 and Finals for Best Live Band are at Orange County Performing Art Center's Samueli Theater Saturday, February 27. The winners from both categories go on to perform live at the Awards on March 6 at the Grove. A complete list of Showcases and Awards dates, venues and details follows.

Music For A Cure joins OC Music Awards this year as the Awards official charitable organization. Music For A Cure is a non-profit organization formed in 2002 by members of Orange County band Sugar Ray. Music for a Cure's mission is to bring the healing power of music to critically ill children by providing them with quality musical instruments, supporting music therapists and music therapy programs at local children's hospitals. A portion of all Awards ticket proceeds assist Music For A Cures efforts.
