Museum of California Design 2009 Award Benefit & Auction
This year they are honoring fashion designer Rudi Gernreich (1922-1985) for his remarkable contributions to American fashion, from the topless bathing suite to plastic clothing. Author Peggy Moffitt, Gernreich's principal model, and one of the first supermodels, will accept the award on his behalf.
Festivities will include an award presentation and silent and live auctions featuring outstanding vintage items and contemporary works of art, design and fashion. Peter Loughrey of Los Angeles Modern Auctions will be the auctioneer.
