I was sent as a volunteer to the BoxEight/GenArt portion of LA Fashion Week. My initial thoughts were those of concern and bewilderment while examining the appearance of the rundown theater. Lesson: Never judge a book by its cover. Once I stepped in, the sensational theater engulfed my criticism and offered the most majestic, vintage scene I would never have imagined. The grand ballroom was traditionally beautiful and created the perfect setting for designer David Alexander's new winter collection fashion show. He was the first designer I leeched myself on and I was blown away by the exhilarating experience. Not only was this 23-year-old designer an inspiration through his amazing collection, but his genuine personality in the midst of all the backstage chaos showed me something unique about this particular person. I think brand loyalty starts with the simple factor of kindness- David Alexander's generosity has indeed touched me and my fondness for his collection is undoubtedly growing.
