Uribe is from Monterrey, Mexico and for more than 5 years has been bedridden by obesity.

Back in 2006, Manuel Uribe weighed over 1200 pounds and went down as the heaviest man alive in the Guinness Book of World Records. But within the last two years, Uribe has shed about 500 pounds with the aid of his beloved girlfriend, Claudia Solis. She has kept Uribe on a healthy diet and a workout regiment to keep the pounds off.

His motivation for change, as well as her determination to help him through this transformation is admirable. Uribe and Solis will be husband and wife on October 26th, 2008.
