Lady and the Tramp

Lady and the Tramp

Lady Gaga sort of reminds me of a female Adam Lambert. She's edgy, but with pop sensibilities. Sorta masculine, sorta feminine, with questionable sexuality and an urge to shock and awe. Love her or hate her, you can't deny that Gaga is, in fact, one hell of a performer. Her latest music video, "Telephone," featuring Beyonce Knowles, aims to break all the rules. But while it definitely entertains, it comes far from satisfying. Examine the pros and cons of the Lady's "Telephone."

Here's What We Love About It:
Gaga's ridiculous fashion statements, like her big-shouldered black-and-white prison suit, curlers made out of Diet Coke cans and glasses made out of burning cigarettes.

That she paid homage to Madonna, Michael Jackson, "Kill Bill" and other pop culture staples.

The fact that she can make fun of the hermaphrodite rumors by showing her va-jay-jay.

And finally, lack of pants. Always.

Here's What We Hate About It: The plot makes no sense, and has no relevance to the song. How did "I have got no service in the club, you see see" translate into talking on a pay phone at a prison and poisoning people at a diner?

The acting and dialogue make you cringe.

The Virgin Mobile phone. Yuck. Enough with the product placement, Hollywood.

The dancing! Beyonce and Gaga are two of the most coordinated, high energy, flexible, amazing dancers around in the pop world. (Sorry, Britney.) Why wasn't there a better dance routine?

Last but not least, the "Thelma & Louise" ending has been done to death. Even "Wayne's World" parodied this. Our overall grade for the video is a "C-." You've been a very bad girl, Gaga.
