The BET awards last night in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium turned into the biggest tribute to Michael Jackson thus far in the industry. With performances by Jamie Foxx and Neyo, the star studded event was one of the most watched show of the night with CNN on the red carpet to broadcast as well. Michaels youngest sister, Janet, showed up to speak on behalf of her family and friends in loving memory of her brother. The night thankfully focused on his acheivments and his obvious landmark in entertainment history instead of the current questions about the cause of his unexpected heart attack or past negative light in the media.
It was a sad night indeed, but there were also plenty of smiles to go around for all the artists who won awards; most knowing they wouldn't be where they are today without MJ. Beyonce took home the best female R&B artist and Neyo for best male R&B artist.
