944: What is the most common beauty complaint that you hear from your patients?

Dr. Alex Kaplan: One of the most common complaints is stubborn body fat, like on the stomach or thighs. Often people can’t get rid of fat despite a good diet and exercise, but they are afraid of getting surgery. People want a procedure that gives great results, but doesn’t force them into a long recovery afterwards.

944: What is the new “it” procedure in Hollywood for body sculpting?

AK: “Tickle Lipo” liposuction is really popular. It is the most recent FDA approved liposuction technique for fat removal as well as body sculpting. The procedure is done in my office without the need for general anesthesia, so you can walk out the door right after it is done. My patients are typically back to work or at an event just a couple days later.

944: How is Tickle Lipo different than traditional or laser lipo?

AK: Tickle Lipo is unique for many reasons. It uses a patented vibrating cannula, which removes the fat very gently and allows for better body sculpting compared to traditional lipo. Tickle Lipo doesn’t use heat like laser lipo, so there is no risk of burns. Another great advantage of Tickle Lipo is that the fat taken out during the procedure is ideal for fat transfer. I can do a Brazilian Butt Lift, augment the breasts or fill in facial lines with the patient’s own fat during the same procedure. The results are incredible.

944: Why is it called “Tickle Lipo?” Does it actually tickle?

AK: The term “Tickle” Lipo was coined because the vibrating cannula can cause a tickling sensation for patients during the procedure.
