The nightlife industry workers are a conspicuous subset of the Las Vegas society, often marked by their extravagant hairstyles, impeccable grooming, designer labels and luxury vehicles. It makes sense then, that this upscale set would desire the best services and ambiance while undergoing routine maintenance. At least that's how Jason Pollock, owner of Nuke Sun Spa in Southern Highlands sees it. The nightlife veteran currently works as a V.I.P. services manager at XS nightclub inside Encore at Wynn Las Vegas and saw a niche market for a unique tanning facility that also offers facials, massages and the oh-so-coveted cosmetic injections like Botox and Juvederm. "The same people that tan are the same people that get massages and like to pamper themselves," says Pollock. "I wanted to make it convenient."

He also implemented other amenities that he would want from a tanning salon: spacious rooms, iPod Stereos and remotes, full mirrors and a longer time to lotion up before getting in the beds. "If you can't get undressed in ten minutes ... we'll make special arrangements," he laughs.

With a menu full of services like hot stone and deep tissue massages, eight facial treatments, eyelash extensions, microdermabrasion, custom airbrushing, and an on-staff medical director to administer Radiesse, Restylane and other cosmetic injections, Nuke promises to be the destination for beautiful people who intend to stay that way.

Manager Danielle Kalafut explains the importance of offering med-spa services at a tanning facility, which helps maintain skin and to minimize the toll of tanning and sun worshipping.

"We know you're tanning, we know that you're going into the sun, so let's help you since we're knowledgeable," Kalafut says. "We want to make sure to either prevent or to fix damage." Kalafut also works in the nightlife industry, along with other members of the Nuke staff, representing hotspots like Tryst, Tao and CatHouse. They use their experience providing the best customer service in the clubs and apply it to Nuke, offering a free glass of Dom Pérignon with each visit, as well as a comfortable lounge area with complimentary snacks and refreshments so friends who want to hang out during their off hours are welcome to linger and have fun.
