It was during a teenage cigar smoking session that the creators of Del Toro Shoes decided classic black slippers with embroidering of their school’s emblem would make for something unique and classy. When faced with the realization that this foot fantasy was going to cost a whopping $900, plus a waiting time of nearly a year, the young entrepreneurs took matters into their own hands. Three years later, James Bohannon, Nathanial Wish and Mathew Chevallard now have a booming business producing attainable and affordable luxury style slippers with a not-so-preppy twist.
Del Toro slippers come in a variety of colors and materials including velvet and the newly added linen option (with us Floridians in mind) for both men and women. All slippers are made with leather heels and soles intended to be worn far beyond the perimeters of home. Del Toro caters to every style offering a range of “classic” and hip designs. For the more creative-minded, customers can opt for a customized approach to trick ’em out to their liking. With prices starting at $69, Del Toro’s loafers provide a great alternative to pricier versions, with more creative freedom.
